Service Restore

Follow these steps to restore a single service. The restoration method differs for DBS-based services and non-DBS-based services.

These steps assume the service folder containing the executable file (.exe) already exists in the CygNet\Services directory.

DBS-Based Service Restore

Step 1: Restore Backup Files for the Service

Run the DBS Restore Backup utility. See DBS Restore Backup Utility for information about how to use this utility.

Step 2: Restart the Service

The service should be listed in the ARS and RSM. Use the RSM to restart the service.

Non-DBS-Based Service Restore

Step 1: Copy the Service Configuration and Data Files to the Service Directory

Copy the service configuration and data files from the backup folder to the service folder on the host server.

Step 2: Restart the Service

The service should be listed in the ARS and RSM. Use the RSM to restart the service.
